I write to express my interest in the Legislative Internship organized by Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC with support from the European Union. I have B.Sc. in Plant Science & Biotechnology from Nassarawa State University, Keffi, Nassarawa State in 2015.Upon conducting research on legislative training to build my knowledge in Legislative matters, I saw this opportunity and was excited because it is being organized by Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC). PLAC is known for its great contributions in promoting transparency and good governance in the Nigeria democracy. After graduating from Nassarawa State University, I felt I should broaden my potentials and horizon by gaining knowledge in legislative practices and processes. This will give me the opportunity to have a great insight into the system of governance in Nigeria. Before my undergraduate studies, while waiting for admission, I loved every minute of some legal experiences I learned in a law firm as an Assistant Clerk. Then, I had the opportunity to learn some legal processes such as drafting of case briefs, maintaining the proper filing system, typing official letters, sending out correspondence, etc. Although I enjoyed my course of study in the University especially the aspect of conducting researches, I have a burning desire to further equip myself with the knowledge of legislative practices and processes. As a young Nigerian who is desirous of contributing to the development of my country Nigeria, especially in the area of good governance, participating in this programme will reposition me to understand the vocabulary, language and concepts of legislature, the arms of government, how laws are made and implemented, the synergy among the three arms of government, etc. I am highly organized, proactive, have good communication skills (writing and speaking), learn very fast and good team player. I would be delighted to develop in these skills to achieve the best in this programme. Please find attached my Curriculum Vitae.I like forward to your favourable response.
